Personal Info:
Dr. Phlox, a Denobulan, is quite a social fellow. Establishing friendships with many crewmembers, included Ensigns Hosi Sato and Elizabeth Cutler, Phlox also maintains correspondence with many Doctors back at Starfleet Medical. At the request of Captain Archer, Phlox joined on aboard Enterprise, where his background in intergalactic medicine has proved invaluable. Dr. Phlox balances a uniqe sense of humor with an odd disposition, creating an odd harmonius atmosphere in his creature-filled infirmiry. Phlox maintins an amazing array of animals containing Medicinal value. His selection includes Altarian Marsupials, Regulan Blood-worms, Osmotic Eels, and a Pyrithian Bat. Phlox occasionally speaks to the Bat.
Dr. Phlox, like all Denobulans, only requires six days of sleep a year. Grumpiness and disorientation are result of disrupting these six days of sleep, as witnessed by the waking of Phlox during his hybernation aboard Enterprise. Phlox, like all the others in his race, was raised with stories of evil Antarans, a race which the Denobulans have been at war with on several occasions. Phlox was once not allowed to go on a field trip to a planet which was "Tainted" by Antarans, and he is determined not to raise his children as he was raised. Phlox has three wives and five children. Two daughters have followed in his footsteps, and one of his wives once came aboard Enterprise to help install a neruon microscope. Both of Phlox's wives also have two other husbands.
Phlox is an extermly valuable member of Enterprise's crew. Phlox, however, wasnt so valuable. When he was new to his career, Phlox was part of a Medical team sent to a Cargo ship orbiting his homeworld. An explosion had occured, and seventeen bodies were strewen about the bridge. The sight of so much carnage unnerved Phlox, and left him eternally disturbed. Phlox also says that he was once overwhelmed by 50 refugees at a camp on Maltas, but this is disputable.
Phlox continues to serve, and is intrigued by Alien cultures. He is constantly adding to his animal collection in sickbay, and he always stands up for what he believes in. Phlox finds Humans simplistic in anatomic beings, but enjoys socialising none the less.
